Kian Brownlee joins the USCB Sand Shark women’s soccer team as Assistant to head coach Jay Harris. Brownlee is thrilled to be moving into coaching at the college level and said, “I truly appreciate the opportunity that Athletic Director Quin Monahan and Coach Jay Harris have offered me. I’m excited and ready to give my best to helping Coach Harris, all our talented players, the team and the program. Coach Harris has recruited a phenomenal class of 2020’s and has a core of players returning that are going to set records this fall!  I’m proud to be a part of this exciting time in the programs history."

Brownlee previously worked as Director Programming and Girls Select Director at United Soccer Academy in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. running all soccer programs for the club and coaching some of South Carolina’s best youth talent. During his 13 years with the club, he developed over a 100 college bound women’s soccer players and several invited into US Women’s Soccer National Teams and Camps including Hannah Betfort (Wake Forest), Kallie Peurifoy (Virginia Tech), and Miranda Weslake (Clemson).

Brownlee played at Liberty University, where he was a four-year starter and team captain his junior and senior seasons. He was awarded the Ed Dobson Award for Character during his sophomore year. A two-time First Team All Big South Conference, he continues to hold the all-time assists record for the program with 27 during his career.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Liberty, he worked in the Athletic Department as Director of Soccer for Westminster Schools of Augusta capturing two boys GISA State Championships. He was awarded the Region Coach of the Year six times as well as State Coach of the Year while at Westminster.

Brownlee has continued working on his coaching craft and education earning aa Master of Education in Health and Physical Education - Augusta State University. He also holds his Premier and Director of Coaching Diploma's from the United Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) and the United State Soccer Federation ‘B’ License.
