BLUFFTON, SC-The USCB track team competed in two meets during spring break. On March 5th, the team traveled to Jacksonville, FL to compete in the University of North Florida Spring Break Invitational.
Shannon Anderson recorded a time of 51.74 for 400 meters.
Nic Tones and
Frank Tinsley followed in the 800 meter event and were clocked in 2:01.50 and 2:01.53 respectively.
John Stanas ran 2:17.53 for the same event.
Tommy Reeves was timed in 16:11.23 for 5000 meters.
The Sand Shark women were led by
Katie Mock who ran the 5000 meter event in 21:02.43 while teammate Kristy Grannan stopped the clock at 22:26.30. Caitlyn Brady ran the 800 meter race in 2:49.77 while
Rachel Ford and
Samantha Willcutt competed at 400 meters.
Marshall Meyer journeyed down to Jacksonville last Saturday to compete in the Gate River 15 Kilometer event which also served as the National USATF Championship placing 85th in a field of over 13000 participants. Over 50 of those racing have already qualified for the 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials. Meyer has already qualified for the NAIA National Marathon Championships which will be held May 28th at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Part of the team will participate this week-end at the Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach while the complete team will be in action the following week at the Georgia Southern Invitational.
