STATESBORO, GA-The USCB track team continued to improve as they draw closer to the Sun Conference Championships in Daytona Beach, FL on April 18 and 19 producing a number of seasonal bests at the Georgia Southern Invitational in Statesboro, GA on Saturday.
 
Nic Tones was the top individual for USCB winning the 1500 meters in 4:11.22. Teammate Frank Tinsley was second in the same event. Tones and Tinsley raced to a third and fourth place finish at 800 meters later in the day. Marshall Meyer garnered the runner-up place for 5000 meters in a time of 16:28.04. Shannon Anderson placed fifth at 400 meters stopping the watches at 51.88. Anderson also got sixth in the 200 in a time of 23.11.
 
The Lady Sand Sharks were led by Katie Mock and Jessica Brown who both produced eighth place finishes in the 1500 meters and 800 meters respectively. The women's 4 X 400 relay team consisting of Brown, Mock, Selena Hutson and Caitlyn Brady crossed the line for a fourth place finish.
 
The Sand Sharks will return to the track for a Wednesday, April 7th meet at the South Carolina USATF meet in Columbia.
