The University of South Carolina Beaufort softball team looks to continue its hot play when the 15th-ranked Sand Sharks host a pair of Sun Conference opponents for doubleheaders this weekend.
The Sand Sharks (27-5, 5-1 TSC) face Northwood (12-18, 3-5) for two games starting at 11:30 a.m. USCB will celebrate Senior Day, honoring seniors Melanie Goolsby and Alexandria Simmons between games of the doubleheader.
USCB hosts St. Thomas (18-18, 3-5) for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, and the Sand Sharks will honor senior student assistant Caroline Pastre and observe Youth Day with special activities planned for young fans in attendance.
The Sand Sharks are riding an eight-game winning streak and looking to sweep four conference games for the second straight weekend. They took two apiece from Webber International and Embry-Riddle a week ago, allowing only four runs in the four contests.
USCB is tied atop the conference standings with Embry-Riddle, but the Sand Sharks own the tiebreaker by virtue of last weekend's sweep. Northwood and St. Thomas are in a three-way tie with Ave Maria for sixth place.
Streaming video and live stats for all of this weekend's games will be available through USCB's Stretch Internet portal.
