WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's soccer team drew a difficult assignment to open Sun Conference play, falling 11-0 at No. 13 Northwood on Friday.
Johanna Engberg and Linnea Lindmark each netted a hat trick while Engberg registered three assists and Lindmark two for the Seahawks.
Northwood broke through just five minutes in when Hanna Lindstrom assisted on Engberg's first goal, and the Seahawks increased the lead to 4-0 by halftime. They tacked on four more goals in the first 13 minutes of the second half.
Chelsie Mummert played the first half in goal for USCB and made five saves before giving way to fellow senior Fred Gallman for the second half.
USCB (4-5, 0-1) continues conference play Sunday at Johnson & Wales with kickoff set for noon.
