The USCB women's soccer team looks to pick up its third consecutive victory when the Sand Sharks host Florida Memorial for a Sun Conference matchup at noon Sunday at Fin Land Field.
The Sand Sharks are coming off an emotional 4-3 overtime victory over visiting St. Thomas on Friday, as senior midfielder Sam Satterlee returned to the field for the first time in more than a year and scored two goals – the equalizer with less than five minutes remaining in regulation and the game-winner in overtime.
USCB's attack has come to life over the past two games, as the Sand Sharks have scored nine goals during that span after managing only two over their previous three matches. The Sand Sharks are spreading the wealth, too, as six different players have scored in the past two contests.
Florida Memorial has struggled to find the back of the net, scoring just three goals in its first five games. The Lions were blanked in their first two Sun Conference contests last weekend, losing 6-0 at Thomas and 4-0 at SCAD Savannah. Bianca Combe has accounted for two of the team's three goals and leads the squad with five points, while goalkeeper Maria Kecskemeti has a 3.20 goals against average.
The Sand Sharks have won the last three clashes with Florida Memorial, including a 6-1 victory in Miami Gardens, Fla., last season.
