This week the USCB women's soccer team heads to Babson Park, Florida, to take on Sun Conference opponent, Webber International University. Webber is looking to string together three wins in a row for the first time this season. They have have beaten Ave Maria (Fla.), and SCAD Savannah in their last two matches, and will be looking to avenge a loss from last season when the Sand Sharks defeated the Warriors in overtime when
Hayley Pina scored the game-winner in the 108th minute.
The importance of the match is not lost on the Sand Sharks, who will need to secure the road victory to stay in the hunt for the Sun Conference playoffs. "Every game is important," said Coach
Ed Heberling, "but this one is carrying a bit more weight right now."
USCB is currently tied with SCAD Savannah for 7th place in the conference standings, with SCAD holding the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Kickoff is set for 1 PM Wednesday. Live stats and video streaming will be available at
