Hardeeville, SC-- The USCB baseball team was unable to defeat the Warriors of Webber International University (Fla.) this afternoon at Richard Gray Sports Complex, losing 0-6 and 3-7.
The Sand Sharks were unable to find a run in the first game, as they found themselves unable to capitalize with runners on board, leaving eight stranded over the course of the game. At the plate, the Sand Sharks had difficulty solving the pitching of junior Zak Spivy, who went the complete game, giving up on 5 hits with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. On the hill for USCB was
Ryan Reynolds, who went 7 innings with 2 strikeouts.
In the second game of the double-header this afternoon, the Sand Sharks had more success at the dish, with
Hunter Helms going 3-4 and
Tristan Triplett going 2-4 with one RBI. With runners on base though, USCB, struggled to get them home, leaving 11 men stranded throughout the game.
USCB will look to bounce back tomorrow, as they look to their seniors, who will be celebrating senior day prior to the 12 pm game.
