Hardeeville, SC-- The USCB baseball team dropped the third game of the series to Webber International University (Fla.) this afternoon at Richard Gray, losing 6-13.
After a scoreless first inning the Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 advantage before the Sand Sharks were able to get
Noah Matthews around the bases to pull within a single run. Webber then scored a third run in the top half of the third.
USCB, down 7-1 going into the bottom of the sixth, put together a five-run inning to push the score to within one.
Keith Olmo started things off with a single to left center.
Noah Matthews then earned the walk before
Graham Hatfield loaded the bases with a single through the left side.
Mclean Hartz,
Cole Hamilton, and
Alex Murphy all had RBI-singles, and
Chris Vazquez then hit a sacrifice fly to score the fifth run of the inning.
Unfortunately for USCB that is where the offense would stutter. The Warriors added six more runs through the next three innings to put things out of reach of the Sand Sharks.
USCB will be headed to Laurinburg, North Carolina, to take on St. Andrews University on Tuesday afternoon in a single game set for 1 pm.
