Bluffton, SC-- The USCB women's soccer team will open their Sun Conference schedule tomorrow afternoon against the No. 9 Keiser University Seahawks.
The trip to West Palm Beach will put the Sand Sharks back in action after having to miss the last week due to Hurricane Florence. The team will have to show up ready to go, as Keiser will be looking to improve their 1-0 TSC mark in south Florida tomorrow.
On the year, USCB is being led by sophomore
Hannah Salus in goals scored (5) and
Logan Leask in the net (3-2 record). Last week Leask was named Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week after posting 11 saves, including a penalty kick save, in a 0-1 loss to then No. 6 Martin Methodist (Tenn.).
The Seahawks will be coming into the match with a Sun Conference win already under their belt, as they dispatched Ave Maria University 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon. KU will lean on goal-scorers Matilda Ovenberger and Maxi Krug. The duo has combined for 19 goals so far this season.
The teams last met in the Sun Conference opener a year ago when Keiser was able to outlast USCB 3-2 in double-overtime.
Kick off is slated for 1:00 PM Friday, September 21.
