BABSON PARK, Fla. - To conclude the regular season road portion of the 2019 slate, USCB women's soccer will travel to Webber International on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 12 p.m.
About USCB
The Sand Sharks travel back to the Sunshine State with an 8-7 overall record and a 4-4 mark in Sun Conference matches. In home matches this year, USCB is 4-1 with victories over South Carolina State, Warner, Thomas and Ave Maria. In those four victories, USCB outscored the competition, 15-4.
In USCB's most recent match, USCB handed Ave Maria a 4-0 defeat. The Sand Sharks outshot the Gyrenes, 24-11, as USCB total two goals in each half. The game started quickly for USCB, as Julia Gherardi tallied the game's first goal in the second minute. Fifteen minutes later, Mina Ljosland connected with a goal 18 yards out to record her third goal of the season. With under 10 minutes remaining in regulation, Madeline Matusik and Hannah Salus added goals in the 80th and 81st minutes, respectively.
Making her second start of the year, Aryss Gomez played all 90 minutes versus AMU and collected a career-high eight saves.
On the year, Anna Gignilliat leads the team in goals scored with 15 and points with 32. She has scored in eight games this year, including tallying at least one goal in four of the last six matches. Freshman forward Lexi Kaeser jumped into second place on the squad with five goals in 2019. Her along with Gherardi and Allison Schaffer are tied for second on the team with 11 points.
Defensively, USCB totes a 1.58 goals against average and has a .718 save percentage. The USCB goalkeepers have totaled five shutouts, as Gomez owns two of those. Logan Leask has started most of the matches this year - 15 games - and has played over 1,110 minutes and holds a 1.94 goals against average.
Scouting Webber International
Webber International hosts USCB with a 6-6-1 overall mark and a 2-6 record in league contests. The Warriors are 1-3-1 this year at home with its lone victory being a 2-1 win over Ave Maria on Senior Day. In its last three games, Webber is 2-1 with victories over the Gyrenes and Florida National.
Out of the 19 goals scored for WIU this year, Megan Warner leads the team with eight goals. She also has four assists this season, which is tied for the team lead. Right behind her offensively is Leah Borders. Borders has four goals and four assists. Between those two Warriors, they have combined for 12 goals, eight assists, 32 points, 67 shots, 39 shots on goal and four game-winning goals.
Natalie Bartek has started seven of the 13 games this year, which leads all three WIU goalkeepers. Bartek has a 2.45 goals against average and has corralled 48 saves. She has four of the team's six wins. Cameron Laine is the other goalkeeper that sees a lot of time, as she has played in eight of the 13 games. She has totaled over 420 minutes and has allowed 12 goals.

The Sand Sharks will conclude the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 2 at noon, as they will host their annual Senior Day against Southeastern. The four seniors that will be honored are Moa Johansson, Gignilliat, Rileigh Olsen and Leask.
