Ryan McManus in the top of the 5th, and some excellent play in the field, USCB baseball claimed their first Sun Conference victory of the season on Friday, defeating the Florida Memorial Lions 6-4 in Miami.
Eamonn Collins (1-2) started the game for the Sand Sharks, pitching a strong 5 â…“ innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 ER. Returning to the mound following a 1+ hour rain delay,
Ryan Reynolds picked up the save in relief, pitching 3 â…” innings of 2-hit, 1-run ball.
Game 1 Notes:
The Sand Sharks conclude their visit to Florida Memorial with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12 noon. USCB returns home to Sand Shark Park on Tuesday at 2pm to face St. Andrews. They then welcome Bryant and Stratton on Friday and Saturday with double headers on both days beginning at 2pm and 12 noon, respectively. Stay tuned to uscbathletics.com.
