Hardeeville, SC– USCB baseball played hard in Friday's TSC doubleheader vs. Warner at Sand Shark Park, but despite stellar defense and timely hitting, they dropped both games to the Royals by scores of 11-7 and 9-7. In game 1,
Chris Vazquez tripled, homered, and knocked in 2 for the Sand Sharks, and
Robbie Mckinney continued to shine at the plate with 2 more hits and 3 RBIs.
Wyatt McCampbell started game 1 and took the loss for USCB, going 4 innings.
Zach Demchenko made his 1st appearance of the year in relief, going 2 2/3 innings and
Brandon Brown pitched the final 3 1/3 innings for the Sand Sharks. On the defensive side,
Noah Matthews made a spectacular running and diving catch in center, which saved two runs.
In game 2,
Nick DelBianco hit his 1st home run of the year – a 2-run shot – and added an RBI single to lead the offense.
Steven Mojica also had a great game at the plate, going 4 for 5, and
Robbie Mckinney continued to tear it up with 2 more hits.
Chris Hitchman started the game and took the loss, pitching 3 2/3 innings.
Eamonn Collins came on in relief, pitching 4 1/3 innings and striking out 6.
Tanner Davis pitched the final inning for the Sand Sharks.
Tavaris Terrell continued to flash the leather at 3rd, making several sparkling plays at the hot corner in both games.

The Sand Sharks conclude their TSC series vs Warner tomorrow, with a single game at 12 noon at Sand Shark Park. They travel to Cochran, GA on Tuesday, March 19, for a 2pm doubleheader against Middle Georgia. They then visit Miami Gardens, FL for a 3-game TSC series on Friday, the 22nd, and Saturday, the 23rd, facing off for a doubleheader on Friday, and concluding the series with a single game on Saturday.
