Hardeeville, SC - In Saturday's rain-shortened final game of their 3-game TSC series against Ave Maria, USCB baseball lost a close 4-3 game at soggy Sand Shark Park. The weather was a factor all day as the game was delayed for 20 minutes at the outset and for nearly 3 hours in the bottom of the 2nd. It was when the rains came again in the top of the 6th, however, that the game was called with the Gyrenes on top 4-3. In between the raindrops, the Sand Sharks got 2 hits from Cole Hamilton, including an RBI double. Bragg Eastin also doubled to the wall in center. Robbie McKinney contributed an RBI single, and Steven Mojica also had a hit. Nick Constan started the game for USCB and worked 2 innings. Harrison Merck (3-3) came on in relief after the long delay and took the loss. Once again the Sand Sharks excelled defensively, highlighted by spectacular plays in the infield from Tavaris Terrell and Mojica.
