MIAMI SHORES, Fla. –Despite outshooting Johnson & Wales in the Sun Conference opener, USCB soccer suffered its first league contest loss of the year, 3-0, on the road on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
Both teams started the match slow trying to find their rhythm, but in the first 30 minutes, the two clubs combined for nine shots.
In the 35
th minute, Johnson & Wales scored the game's first goal when USCB fouled a Wildcat inside the penalty area. Andrea Gomez took the shot and recorded the go-ahead goal.
Just 25 seconds later, Sawyer Hall doubled JWU's advantage when Savannah Jackson fed a cross to Hall.
Down 2-0, USCB didn't cave, as it took two more shots in the final five minutes of the first half. Despite the late effort, the Sand Sharks were down by two goals at the half.
The first couple of minutes of the second half were rough for the Sand Sharks, as a pair of USCB players were shown yellow cards. One of those penalties occurred in the 18-yard box, which allowed the Wildcats to move the lead to 3-0.
USCB continued to pepper the Johnson & Wales' net, as the Sand Sharks ripped 11 shots after being down by three goals. However, none of the attempts found the back of the net.
