Sand Sharks Open Three-Game Road Stretch on Monday at Webber International

BABSON PARK, Fla. - To open a three-game road stretch, USCB women's soccer travels to Webber International on Monday, Oct. 2 for a showdown at Warrior Grass Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

About USCB

USCB travels to the Sunshine State with a 3-3 overall record and a 3-3 mark in Sun Conference games. USCB has narrowly lost two straight games, as it has played back-to-back overtime matches.

In USCB's most recent match (vs. No. 4 Southeastern), the Sand Sharks nearly stunned the nationally-ranked Fire, as they took SEU to overtime. Mari Kalvatn scored both goals for the Sand Sharks, which was the first time in her career to net multiple goals. Lexi Kaeser had a two-assist game, which was also the first time in her career with multiple assists in one game. Alane Dame was strong in net, as the rookie goalkeeper collected a career-high 10 saves. 

On the year, three Sand Sharks have multiple goals this year in Marcela Shartouny (3), Kalvatn (2) and Madeline Matusik (2). Following her two-assist game against SEU, Kaeser joins Aurya Downey as the only two Sand Sharks with multiple assists in 2020. Overall, nine Sand Sharks have recorded at least one point as well.

In net, USCB has split time between the pipes between Dame and Mariah Ruckdeschel. Ruckdeschel has started four games, while Dame has started two. Together the two Sand Sharks have collected 37 saves and hold a 1.44 goals against average. They have faced 99 shots and hold a stellar .804 save percentage. 

Scouting Webber International

WIU welcomes USCB to Babson Park with a 3-6-1 overall mark and a 1-6 league record. The Warriors are also on a two-game losing streak and are 2-3 in matches on their home field.

Webber's main offensive threats are Sophia Kenny and Malia Domingo, as they both have two or more goals this year. Kenny leads WIU with three goals, while Domingo has a pair of goals. Charlee Lutton and Sarah Thigpen have two assists this year to lead WIU in the season category.

Natalie Bartek is the main goalkeeper for the Warriors. She has started eight of the 10 games for WIU and totes a 2.91 goals against average. She has collected 21 saves en route to her .704 save percentage.
