BLUFFTON, S.C. - To open the Sun Conference Tournament, the No. 4 USCB women's soccer team will host No. 5 St. Thomas on Sunday, Nov. 15, as the Sand Sharks and Bobcats will square off at 11 a.m. at Fin Land Field.

About No. 4 USCB
The Sand Sharks open conference tournament action with a 4-5 overall record and a 4-5 Sun Conference mark in 2020. USCB is dominant at home (3-1), as its three wins have come against St. Thomas, Webber International and Warner.
In its most recent contest, USCB fell to the reigning national champions, Keiser, 4-1. Marcela Shartouny scored the lone goal for USCB, as she recorded her team-best fourth goal of the year.
In USCB's and STU's most recent matchup, the Sand Sharks fended off the Bobcats, 1-0, as Aurya Downey netted the game-winning goal off a penalty kick in the 75th minute. STU connected with 23 shots (11 on frame), while USCB ripped 11 shots (five on goal). Mariah Ruckdeshel posted the shutout for USCB, as she earned an 11-save performance.
On the year, Shartouny leads the Sand Shark offense with four goals. Madeline Matusik, Madison Foshee and Mari Kalvatn are the other Sand Sharks with multiple goals this year (two apiece). Downey and Lexi Kaeser are the lone two Sand Sharks that have collected two or more assists in 2020.
Freshman goalkeeper Alana Dame has started started five straight games for USCB in net, and the Spartanburg, S.C. native carries a 1.78 goals against average. She has over 450 minutes between the pipes and totes a .795 save percentage
Scouting No. 5 St. Thomas
St. Thomas returns to the Lowcountry with a 5-5 overall record and a 4-5 mark in league contests. The Bobcats won their most recent match, 4-0, as they shut out Webber at home. However, in their last four games STU is 1-4 with loses to Keiser, Ave Maria, USCB and Southeastern.
Offensively Karina Medina is the player to keep an eye on, as she has a team-best five goals. She has connected with 23 shots and put 14 on goal in 2020. Right behind her is Andrea Manzur and Leonie Weide, as the Bobcat duo has a trio of goals this year.
USCB will most likely see Melanie Lefebvre in net, as the senior has started nine of the 10 games for St. Thomas. The Canadian has a 1.97 goals against average and has corralled 37 saves. She has totaled 778 minutes and faced 90 shots.
