About USCB
The Sand Sharks travel to Warner with a 3-4 overall record and a 3-4 mark in Sun Conference games. USCB is on a three-game losing streak, but all three loses were one-goal defeats, including two overtime losses to Ave Maria and No. 4 Southeastern.
On the year, the Sand Sharks have scored 11 goals in seven games for a 1.57 goals per game average. They have ripped 85 total shots for a 12.1 shots per game mark, including averaging a .553 shots on goal percentage. On the other side, USCB's defense has allowed 1.43 goals per game and a .472 shots on goal percentage.
Three Sand Sharks have tallied multiple goals in 2020 in Marcela Shartouny, Mari Kalvatn and Madeline Matusik. Shartouny recorded a two-goal performance against Warner in her last showdown against the Royals. Matusik has scored one goal in two games this year, while Kalvatn posted a two-goal outing against the nationally-ranked Fire.
Aurya Downey and Lexi Kaeser continue to lead USCB in assists, as they have five of the team's nine assists. Downey has three, which all came in one game, and Kaeser has two, which came off Kalvatn's two-goal game versus Southeastern.
Alana Dame has started to see an increase of minutes in net, as she has started the last two games for the Sand Sharks. The freshman from Spartanburg, S.C. is 1-2 on the year and has a respectable 1.63 goals against average. She has faced 46 shots and saved 15 attempts for a .750 save percentage.
Scouting Warner
The Royals welcome USCB to Royals Field with a 6-5 overall mark and 3-5 record in Sun Conference matches. Warner is 3-1 in its last four games with wins over Ave Maria, Webber International and Brewton-Parker. The Royals are also 3-2 on their home field.
The WU offense is led by Maddie Manzke, who has started all 11 games. She leads the team in goals (5), assists (3), points (13), shots (28), shots on goal (20) and goals per game (.179). Another trio of Royals to keep an eye on are Lexi Garcia, Blessing Zim and Sara Machado. The Royal trio has combined for seven goals and three assists.
Warner has used a pair of goalkeepers this year in Gabrielle Barnette and Mackenzie Spurling. However, Barnette has started the last four contests for WU. She has appeared in seven of the 11 games and has totaled over 500 minutes between the pipes. She has allowed 10 goals for a 1.77 goals against average. She also has 21 saves for a .677 save percentage.
