HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The USCB baseball team used a six-run fifth inning in game two of the doubleheader to split with USCAA member Bryant & Stratton, 6-2 and 6-2, on Saturday afternoon at Richard Gray Stadium.

HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
USCB opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with a run. Castro walked to start the rally, and Tristan Triplett put two runners on base with a bunt single. Sellers made it hurt with a run-scoring single to give the Sand Sharks the 1-0 advantage.Â
Bryant & Stratton found momentum in the top of the second and was able to knot the game at 1-all.Â
The Bobcats broke the 1-1 tie in the top of the fourth, as they took advantage of a throwing error by USCB's catcher.Â
Up 2-1, BSC continued to add insurance runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to take a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.
Bryant & Stratton made a pitching change, and USCB tried to mount a comeback. Castro started the rally with a one-out single. After swiping second, Humphrey poked a single through the right side to plate his teammate. However, that was all USCB could muster in the four-run defeat.

HOW GAME TWO HAPPENED
Following a quiet first inning for both clubs, Bryant & Stratton opened the scoring in the second inning off one hit, two walks and a hit by pitch.Â
After leaving a pair of runners on base in the bottom of the fourth, USCB's offense exploded for six runs off three hits and four walks in the fifth frame. Sorbara started the rally with a ringing single down the left field line, and Terrell and Sellers posted back-to-back walks to force the bases loaded. Castro took advantage with a two-run double to tie the game at 2-2. Depugh followed with a sacrifice fly to give USCB the 3-2 lead. After Humphrey's infield single, he and Castro moved up 90 feet via a wild pitch to make it a two-run game, 4-2. BSC made a pitching change, and the new pitcher walked the bases loaded and plated a run for USCB on a wild pitch. To end the scoring, Searles reached on a fielder's choice, as Russ touched home on the play to make the game 6-2.Â
Saenz settled on the mound for his three innings of relief, as he held the Bobcats hitless and scoreless for the final innings, as he earned his first win in a Sand Shark uniform.Â
