LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Sporting a two-game winning streak, the USCB women's soccer team saw that stretch come to a halt on Saturday in Lawrenceville, as undefeated, No.18 Cumberlands upended the Sand Sharks, 2-0, at the neutral-site contest at Grizzly Soccer Complex.

How It Happened
No. 18 Cumberlands attacked the USCB net quickly, as it connected with three shots in the first five minutes. The Patriots added on three more corner kicks in the first eight minutes as well, but the USCB defense stayed strong.
Unfortunately in the 13th minute, CU tallied the game-opening goal, as Jenna Rockwell tallied the goal for the Patriots.
The Sand Sharks had a chance to knot the game in the 36th minute, as Kalvatn ripped a shot on goal. However, Cumberlands' goalkeeper - Laura Vogt - made the save.
Following the halftime break, Cumberlands doubled its lead in the 59th minute when Jayden Boelter netted the Patriots' second goal of the game.
Just two minutes later, rookie midfielder Downey tried to cut into the deficit, but her shot attempt sailed wide of the net.
The two teams exchanged scoring opportunities for the finals 29 minutes, but neither team could ripple the net to end the game 2-1.
