HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - For the first time since the 2017 campaign, the USCB baseball team collected a sweep over a Sun Conference foe on Saturday, as the Sand Sharks walked off against Warner, 6-5.
Tavaris Terrell collected the walkoff for USCB, as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the ninth inning.
The last time USCB swept a TSC series was, ironically, against Warner in the 2017 campaign, and the last time USCB swept a three-game series was during the 2019 season when it took three games from Trinity Baptist in Jacksonville, Fla.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The series finale started off with a bang, as both ball clubs plated three runs each in the first inning. John Pichman and Jan Martinez collected the run-scoring hits for WU, while Humphrey and Milhan combined for the three runs in the first inning for the Sand Sharks.Â
After combining for no runs and eight runners left on base between the two clubs from the second to fourth inning, USCB took its first lead of the day in the bottom of the fifth. Humphrey reached base on a throwing error, and Milhan put two runners on base via a single. Both Sand Sharks advanced on a fly out, and Wood plated Humphrey on another Royal throwing error, which gave USCB the 4-3 advantage.
The Royals took their first lead of the day, 5-4, with lone runs in the sixth and seventh innings.Â
After a quiet eighth frame, the Royals nearly added insurance runs in the top of the ninth. However, Collins stayed strong to leave two runners on base.
Down by just one run in the bottom of the ninth, Castro started the inning with a single through the left side. Wesley Ambrose came in to pinch run, and he moved to second on a ground out. On the third pitch of the at-bat, Russ smacked an opposite field triple to knot the game at 5-5 and put the game-winning run 90 feet away. WU went to the bullpen, and the first two batters the reliever faced were intentionally walked to force the bases loaded. With no pitches thrown by the Royal reliever, the first and only pitch of the game hit Terrell, which scored Russ and gave USCB the 6-5 win.
