THOMASVILLE, Ga. - USCB baseball's six-game winning streak came to an end on Friday, April 2, as the Sand Sharks fell to Thomas, 5-4 and 9-7, at Varnadoe Stadium in Thomasville.

HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
After a scoreless first inning, Thomas scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the second to take the two-run lead. Jacob Paterson and Rodwell Munoz were the two Night Hawks that earned the RBI in the inning.
The Night Hawks added solo runs in the third and fourth innings to make it a four-run game, 4-0.
USCB tallied a run in the top of the fifth for its first run of the game. The run came off Wood's bat, as he smacked a leadoff, solo home run.
Thomas regained the run in the home half of the sixth with a run-scoring double from Brad Toxen.
Despite being down 5-1, the Sand Sharks mounted a comeback in the eighth and ninth innings. USCB plated two runs in the eight, as Sellers touched home on a groundout and Terrell scored Russ on a RBI triple.
USCB made it a one-run game in the ninth, 5-4, as Wood started the frame with a single. After two quick outs, Sellers cracked a triple to make it a one-run game. With the game-tying run 90 feet away, USCB's final out came from a flyout, as the Sand Sharks fell in game one, 5-4.

HOW GAME TWO HAPPENED
After a scoreless first inning, TU plated the game's first run in the bottom of the second. Turner Maddox touched home on a double play to lift the Night Hawks to a narrow lead.
USCB answered in the next half inning - top of the third. Daniel Searles started the inning by reaching base on an error. Owen pinch ran for his teammate, and he swiped second base to move into scoring position. After a pair of outs, Sellers collected the run-scoring single to knot the game at 1-all.
In the bottom of the fourth, Thomas took the four-run lead thanks to four runs in the home half of the frame. Ethan Krizen, Luis Torres and Bradley Fleenor combined for the runs, as Fleener's two RBI double highlighted the inning.
After a scoreless fifth, the two teams exchanged a pair of runs in the sixth to make the game 7-3. Wood and Humphrey touched home in the inning to account for the two runs for USCB.
TU added another pair of runs after the seventh-inning stretch to take the commanding 9-3 lead.
Despite being down six runs, USCB's offense didn't cave, as it scored runs in both the eighth and ninth innings. However, the Sand Sharks' comeback fell just short in the ninth after combining for four runs in the final two innings to fall 9-7 to the Night Hawks.
