BLUFFTON, S.C. - Marking the third straight game without allowing a goal, the USCB shut out Brewton-Parker, 1-0, on Thursday at Fin Land Field, as Mari Kalvatn tallied the game-winning goal for the Sand Sharks.

Inside The Box Score

How It Happened

USCB struggled maintaining possession for the first portion of the match, as BPC took advantage of the Sand Shark miscues by ripping seven shots (four shots on goal) in the first 28 minutes of play.

The Sand Sharks started to gain possession at that point, and it paid off with the game-winning goal in the 31st minute. Working towards the right corner, Bye-Andersen weaved through Baron defense and eventually fed a cross to the middle of the box. One Sand Shark missed the first header, but Kalvatn picked up the second attempt by redirecting into the left side of the net. The goal was Kalvatn's 11th goal of the year - the most in the Sun Conference and fourth most in the country.

The two clubs exchanged chances in the final 19 minutes of the first half, but USCB saw out the first session with a one-goal advantage.

The Sand Sharks changed their game plan at halftime, and it paid off, as BPC had minimal opportunities in front of net in the second half.

With the alteration, USCB held on to the ball most of the second half and held a four-shot lead in the final 45 minutes.

USCB saw the final minutes tick off the clock to seal its third straight and sixth overall victory of the year.
