AUGUSTA, Ga. - Despite scoring five runs in the final two innings, the USCB baseball team fell to Augusta, 11-6, on Tuesday afternoon at Jaguar Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
USCB's offense was hit with three double plays in the first three innings, which held the Sand Sharks scoreless during that stretch. Augusta took advantage of its defensive prowess by scoring four runs in the first three frames.
After a scoreless fourth inning for both teams, USCB and Augusta exchanged runs in the fifth to make the contest 5-1. USCB's lone run came as a leadoff bomb from Russ.
The Sand Sharks and Jaguars had chances to score in the seventh, as they combined for two hits. However, both ball clubs combined for three runners left on base.
The eighth inning was full of action - nine combined runs. USCB scored three of those runs. Castro poked a RBI single, while Milhan and Brevon Harper tacked on run-scoring hits as well. With the momentum, USCB made it a one-run contest - 5-4.
Unfortunately, Augusta's offense erupted for six runs off seven hits to take the commanding 11-4 lead.Â
USCB tried to mount a comeback in the ninth, but it could only muster a pair of runs to end the game, 11-6.Â
