HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - To open the four-game series versus the Tigers, the USCB baseball team dropped a 7-1 decision to Georgetown College on Thursday afternoon at Richard Gray Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After working a quick 1-2-3 first inning, USCB took its first lead of the game via a sacrifice fly. Meyer singled to right center and then stole second. The upperclassman reached third on a ground out and then Sellars earned a sac fly to give the Sand Sharks the 1-0 lead.
After a quick second frame, Georgetown tied the game a 1-all via a double play that plated a run in the third.
After leaving runner in scoring position in the third and fourth innings, GC took its first lead of the contest in the fifth. Eric Burckle and Joshua Duarte plated the runs for the Tigers to make the game 3-1.
USCB left three total runners on base in the sixth and seventh innings, but no Sand Sharks touched home.
Georgetown continued to add insurance runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth innings to take a 7-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth.
GC put in its fourth pitcher of the game to seal the six-run win over the Sand Sharks.
