DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The USCB softball team was tasked with a tall order to kick off the Peach Belt Conference slate, as the Sand Sharks squared off with No. 3 North Georgia on Saturday at the Hill. The Sand Sharks lost game one, 7-0, before being swept, 8-0, in the second contest.

HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
USCB's offense was stymied from first pitch, as it wasn't until the sixth inning the Sand Sharks had their first base runner - via an error.
North Georgia plated four runs in the first followed by a lone run in the second. The Skyhawks added insurances runs in the fourth to claim the 7-0 win.
UNG's starter - Kristen Davis - earned the no-hit bid going all seven innings with 10 strikeouts and no walks.

HOW GAME TWO HAPPENED
Unlike game one, USCB was able to push a runner on base in the first thanks to a leadoff walk from Daryn Miller. She advanced to third with one out but was left stranded.
North Georgia's offense picked up where it left off by scoring seven runs for the next three innings.
The Sand Sharks had a chance to cut into the seven-run deficit in the top of the fifth. Smith and Walker connected with two-out knocks. However, neither of them would touch home, as North Georgia added in the game-winning, run-rule run in the home half of the fifth.
