HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - After collecting its first-ever Peach Belt Conference win on Saturday, the USCB softball team battled in a back-and-forth affair with USC Aiken but fell to the Pacers, 6-5, to conclude the series on Sunday at Richard Gray Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The two ball clubs exchanged blow for blow in the seven-inning affair on Sunday.
Aiken scored a run in the top of the first on a RBI double from Mallory Shaver, but Addie Reynolds followed in the bottom of the frame with a sacrifice fly to tie the game.
After a scoreless second, the two teams exchanged blows with each team scoring three runs. USCA scored three runs thanks to two walks and an error. USCB tallied its three runs off one swing when Freeman cracked a three RBI double to left center to tie the game, 4-4.
The Pacers retook the lead in the top of the fourth with a one-out double, and USCB tied the contest back up in the bottom of the fifth when Alte scored Coleman.
Tied 5-5, the Pacers used a long sixth inning, which led to a two-out run from Jordan Stanley.
USCB's offense went cold in the sixth and seventh innings, as the Pacers claimed the series finale - 6-5.

The Sand Sharks will continue its homestand with a doubleheader with North Greenville on Tuesday, March 14. The non-conference bout will begin at 1 p.m. at Richard Gray Stadium.
