GREENWOOD, S.C. - After losing both games to open the series, the USCB softball team was swept in the third of the three-game set with Lander, 8-0, on Sunday afternoon at Doug Spears Field.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Addie Reynolds - 2-for-4, double
Daryn Miller - 2-for-3, two singles
Reghan Steifle - 5.1 innings, six earned runs
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Sand Sharks nearly started the scoring in the first inning, but an unconventional double play ended USCB's threat.
After holding LU scoreless in the first, the Bearcat offense posted at least one run for the next five innings, including two runs in the second, third and sixth innings.
USCB's offense posted only four hits in the game - both of which came from two players.
The Bearcats enforced the run-rule victory in bottom of the sixth with a two-RBI single to take the finale, 8-0.
