HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - After nearly taking the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader, USCB softball dropped the finale to the nationally-ranked Columbus State squad, 17-1, on Sunday at Cougar Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a 1-2-3 top of the first, CSU struck for two runs in the bottom of the first to take the early lead.
The Sand Sharks were able to cut the deficit in half when Hampleton blasted a solo homer to straight away center in the second.
The Cougar offense caught fire in the second and third innings by scoring 15 unanswered runs.
USCB's offense couldn't muster any more runs, as it saw out the 17-1 loss.

USCB will jump out of conference for the final non-conference bout, which will held on Tuesday, April 18 when it travels to Coker. The doubleheader matchup is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Harsville, S.C.
