Edwards, Mitchell set school records at Florida College Invite

GAINESVILLE -- Cameron Edwards and Jacob Mitchell both set school indoor records in their respective events as the Sand Sharks competed in the Florida College Invitational Saturday in Gainesville.

Edward's mark of 14.05m set a school record for the indoor triple jump and Mitchell's time of 8:50.65 set the record in the 3000m run.

The sophomore out of Guyton also competed in the men's shot put finishing with a throw of 9.39m. Newcomer, Michael Martello placed fifth in the same event setting a season PR of 12.49 meters. Ramon White finished with a 5.40 mark. Continuing in the field events, Jake Laird and Zach Markow both finished the pole vault with marks of 3.20m and 3.05 respectively.

On the women's side the Sand Sharks posted two top-10 finishes in the women's triple jump with De'Andra Brown posting a mark of 10.42 meters and then in the 4x400 relay as Taylor Atkinson, LeeAisha Ford, Hannah Hoffman, and Marcela Shartouny placed eighth, clocking a time of 4:37.71.

USCB concludes the indoor regular season this weekend at the South Carolina Invite in Columbia.
