Multiple PRs set, USCB finish 9th at Sand Shark Invite

HARDEEVILLE -- Five out of the seven racers USCB men's cross country team set personal bests in the 8K race Saturday morning as Beaufort finished 9th at the 17th Annual Sand Shark Invitational.

Elliott Howe once again paced the Sand Sharks in just his third collegiate meet. The freshman shaved 20 seconds off his previous best to finish 30th overall with a time of 27:27.8. Jacob Mitchell posted a time of 27:51.3 while Jay King and Jeremiah Grant both set PRs with times of 28:30.5 and 28:59.4 respectfully.

Beckett Jones averaged a time mile time of 6:07.6 en route to a 30:27.2 personal best and Eli Smith crossed the finish line at 31:43.6. Michael Johnson rounded out the Sand Sharks on the course finishing with a time of 42.40.7.

USCB heads to Spartanburg this weekend to compete in the Upstate Invite to compete before the Peach Belt Conference Championships on Oct. 26.
