Four second half goals sends USCB to senior day W

BLUFFTON -- Four different Sand Sharks scored in the second half and USCB got back to their winning ways at Fin Land Field Saturday afternoon knocking off Albany State 4-0 as the team honored the Class of 2025 in a pregame ceremony.

10 seniors were honored prior to kickoff, acknowledging their accomplishments over the past four years. Most notably helping making the transitions from NAIA to NCAA DII and being one of the most successful programs during that time.

For the first half it was a scene that the Sand Sharks had known all to well, being held scoreless through the first half. USCB though had plenty of chances, taking 20 shots, but only three of them were on target. It didn't take long for Beaufort to break through in the second half as Jenny Hesby found the back of the net on a cross from Lauren Carmichael to put USCB up 1-0. Savanna Page made it 2-0 after heading in a cross from Kennedy Harris and then it was Kensington Daigle and Ashley Harford scoring for the first time in their careers capping the scoring for the Sand Sharks as Synne Bye-Andersen inched ever closer to the all-time assist record after assisting on those two goals.

The Sand Sharks wrap up its four-game home stand this Tuesday against Flagler to continue Peach Belt play. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p,m. at Fin Land Field.
