Howe, Mitchell finish in top 50, Sand Sharks finish 8th at PBC Championships

GAINESVILLE -- Elliott Howe and Jacob Mitchell finished one second a part, good for 48th and 49th respectively as USCB finished 9th overall Saturday at the Peach Belt Conference Championships at North Georgia's Cross Country Course in Gainesville.

Howe's impressive freshman campaign concluded with a time of 27:55.8, good for a 5:37.1 mile pace. Mitchell kept up with his teammate step-for-step averaging a mile pace two-tenths of a second behind Howe's and he finished his cross country career with a time of 27:56.8.

Fellow senior Jay King ended his career at USCB with a time of 29:19.0. Freshmen Jeremiah Grant and Beckett Jones cross the finish line right after one another with times of 30:19.7 and 30:22.3. Eli Smith finished with a time of 32:12.6 and Noah Hensley finished his first 8K race with a time of 38:25.8.
