Edwards breaks school record, Martello wins hammer at PBC Championship

DAYTONA BEACH -- Cameron Edwards and Michael Martello again shined for USCB's men's track and field team at the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Daytona Beach this week. The junior jumper broke the school records for both the long and triple jump while setting a personal record with a 14.41m and 7.01m jumps and Martello took home the gold in the hammer throw with a mark of 49.51m breaking his own school and personal record.

Senior Jay King posted a sub-two minute time in the 800m dash with a time of 1:58.16. Michael Johnson finished the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.79 while Eli Smith ran in the 10,000m and crossed the finish line with a time of 40:27.31.

Jake Laird competed in two events, the javelin and pole vault, and finished with a distance of 41.52m and a height of 3.38m. Zack Markow led the way for USCB in the pole vault completing a 3.53m height.

USCB finished 7th overall scoring 28.5 points.
