Sand Sharks blank 21st ranked Lynn

BOCA RATON -- A history making night occurred for the USCB women's soccer team in Boca Raton as the Sand Sharks took down 21st ranked Lynn 1-0 on the back of Synne Bye-Andersen's game-winning PK goal.

The game remained scoreless through the first 68 minutes until Bye-Andersen was brought down inside the box by Savannah Larsen. The Trondheim, Norway native took the penalty kick and found the back of the net, driving the ball past the outstretched hand of the Fighting Knight's goalkeeper.

Lynn out shot Beaufort 10-5 but failed to put any shots on goal. The Sand Sharks earned its third straight clean sheet and ran its scoreless minute streak to 307 minutes.

USCB continues its Sunshine State road trip Monday afternoon as it visits Palm Beach Atlantic for a 4 p.m. kickoff in West Palm Beach.
