Herring moves into top 75, Edwards, Mitchell finish top 10

COLUMBIA -- The USCB men's track team had another solid performance at the Carolina Challenge Friday as freshman Jakori Herring set a personal best in the 400 and moved into the top 75 in all of DII while both Cam Edwards and Sam Mitchell placed in the top 10 of the long jump against a stiff competiton in Columbia.

Herring's 48.84 time was good enough to finish sixth overall and his time now moves him in the number 66 spot in all of NCAA Division II.

Edward's finished with a jump of 6.77 meters good for seventh overall and Mitchell was just a tick behind his teammate with a 6.58 meter mark.

Jason Jose also had a strong performance posting a PR in the weight throw, tossing a 12.05 meter throw.

The Sand Sharks hit the road north to Liberty University next weekend at the Liberty Classic.
