With returners and newcomers, Softball looks to make splash in '25

BEAUFORT -- The 2025 Sand Shark Softball season gets underway this weekend in Anderson, and USCB will aim to build upon the positives from last season although it may have ended too early.

Beaufort returns everyone from the 2024 roster and a slew of newcomers will join a veteran squad for head coach Codee Yeske's fourth year at the helm. USCB finished last season just five games under .500 going 20-25, but that record doesn't reflect the battles the Sand Sharks went through with the likes of 2023 National Champions North Georgia and 2024 PBC Tournament champions, Columbus State.

USCB's pitching staff will be anchored by senior Cierra Kinlaw who posted a 10-9 record with a sub 3.00 era while striking out over 100 batters. She'll be flanked by fellow senior Abigail Ramirez and sophomore Cassie Brundge. Freshmen Emily Morgan and Sydney Kibler should see some time inside the circle and JUCO transfer Madison Murphy will round out the Sand Shark's rotation.

Offensively senior leadoff hitter Jaden Goodwin returns to the top of Beaufort's lineup where she put up video game like numbers early in the season earning her PBC Player of the Week honors. Catcher Addie Reynolds will look to continue her power surge as she now as 21 career home runs, good for fifth all time. She currently is 14 homers away from the all-time record.

A familiar trio will roam the outfield Daryn Miller, Saria Simmons, and Tamiyah Whitlock all have put their gold glove caliber defense on display with their speed.

The Sand Shark's season kicks off tomorrow afternoon against Anderson with first pitch schedule for 1:30 p.m.
