STATESBORO, GEORGIA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team competed in the opening two rounds of the Bash in the Boro tournament on Monday. The Division I event is hosted by Georgia Southern University.

After the first two rounds, the Sand Sharks sit 12th overall on the team leaderboard.

Host Georgia Southern leads the field after day one with a team total of 555. Individually, Edouard Cereto and William Sundborn are tied for first place.

For USCB, Nikolai Holme led the way, finishing the day tied for 33rd with a total score of 146. After carding a 75 in round one, Holme improved with a 71 one under par, in round two. He recorded one eagle (hole 15 in round one), five birdies (tied for the team high), and 21 pars.

Octavio Laurent was second for the Sand Sharks, posting rounds of 73 and 75 for a two-round total of 148. He finished the day tied for 45th and recorded a team high 26 pars, second-most in the entire field, along with four birdies.

Christofer Hammar finished third in team scoring with rounds of 75 and 79, totaling 154 and placing him in a tie for 67th. Hammar was one of two Sand Sharks to record an eagle, his came on hole 1 during round two. He added four birdies and 20 pars over the two rounds.

Jan Ciric matched Hammar's 154 total, with a 73 in the opening round followed by an 81 in round two, tying him for 67th overall. Ciric posted 20 pars and four birdies.

Dylan Allen rounded out the USCB lineup with a two-round total of 155 (76-79), placing 70th. Allen finished with five birdies and 21 pars on the day.

The Sand Sharks return to the course Tuesday morning for the final round of the Bash in the Boro tournament.
