BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's soccer team faced the University of South Carolina Aiken on Saturday afternoon for its 2025 Senior Day match. The Pacers jumped out to a 1–0 lead in the first half before securing a 2–0 win over the Sand Sharks.
USC Beaufort now sits at 9-5-2 overall and 3-5-2 in Peach Belt Conference play, while USC Aiken improves to 6-6-3 overall and 3-4-2 in conference.
The Sand Sharks outshot the Pacers 20-10, including 10 shots in each half, and held an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal. Savanna Page led USCB with six shots and two on goal, while Maggie Olsen recorded three shots on goal. Graysen Asher started in net for the Sand Sharks, making four saves on the afternoon.
Both teams generated early opportunities, with USC Aiken firing a shot four minutes into the match. The Sand Sharks responded moments later, producing three consecutive chances starting in the seventh minute, but Pacer goalkeeper Savannah Yerger came up with the saves to keep the match scoreless.
Asher made a key stop in the 17th minute, denying a shot to the bottom center, before the Sand Sharks defense cleared a Pacers corner kick to hold the score at 0–0.
USCB continued to apply pressure with three more shots on goal, including one off a corner kick, but USC Aiken capitalized just before halftime, breaking through in the 41st minute to take a 1–0 lead into the break.
The Pacers threatened to extend their lead early in the second half, forcing Asher into back-to-back saves within a two-minute span to keep the deficit at one.
USCB tried for the equalizer in the 75th minute, creating a chance off a free kick following a USC Aiken offside, but Yerger made the stop to preserve the lead.
In the 77th minute, the Pacers doubled their advantage, scoring on a rebound following an initial save to make it 2–0.
The Sand Sharks pushed late, firing off six shots in the final six minutes, including two off corner kick opportunities, but USC Aiken's defense held firm to complete the shutout.
The Sand Sharks will close out the regular season with two road matches next week: Tuesday at Mars Hill and Saturday afternoon at Embry-Riddle.
