Men finish tied for 3rd, women in 5th at PBC Indoor Championships

GAINESVILLE -- The indoor season for USCB men's and women's track team concluded Monday evening inside the Alachua County Events Center in Gainesville, Florida as the men's team finished tied for 3rd overall scoring 41 points and the women in 5th scoring 18 points.

Jon Davis, Cam Edwards, and Zach Sellers took home hardware finishing in the top three of their respective events. Davis posted a persona best 13.42m jump in the triple jump to finish in third. Edwards, also finishing third, posted a 6.84m mark in the long jump and Sellers rounded out the trio of podiums with a 22.20 time in the 200 meter dash.

Sam Mitchell placed in the top 5 of the 60m dash with a time of seven seconds and Jason Jose also placed in the top 5 of the shot put with a 13.08m throw.

On the women's side De'Andra Brown picked up points for the Sand Sharks in five events including the 60m hurdles, the high, long, and triple jump as well as the shot put. The junior posted PR's in the 60m hurdles with a 9.62 time, in the high jump with a 1.42m jump and in the shot, tossing a 9.79m throw, both which were school records. LeeAisha Ford and Dionna Rivers both made the 200 meter finals while also competing in the 60m and 60m hurdle finals respectively. Rivers finished seventh with a time of 8.08 and Ford a time of 9.58. Maggie Olsen also scored in the top 10 for USCB posting a 1:02.59 time in the 400m dash.

The Sand Sharks will now transition into the outdoor portion of the 2025 schedule, beginning competition at the River City Relays Track and Field Meet in Jacksonville, Florida on March 7.
