MILL SPRING, NORTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort Men's Track & Field team closed out the two-day Tryon Mid-Winter Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Mill Spring, North Carolina.
The Sand Sharks found success at the meet, especially in the 60m hurdles, where a new school record was set. Malachi Milligan placed ninth overall in the 60m hurdles and set the new school record with a time of 8.67.
In the 60m, the Sand Sharks were led by Bryson Shears, who finished 20th with a time of 7.07. Elijah Lewis placed 30th overall in the 400m with a time of 53.20. Braxton Talley led the way in the 800m, finishing 12th overall with a time of 1:59.75.
Raahil Baig placed 20th overall in the 200m with a time of 22.77, one of three Sand Sharks to compete in the event. Zachery Vowles represented the Sand Sharks in the afternoon 3000m, posting a time of 8:53.73.
In the field events, Cameron Edwards led the Sand Sharks in the long jump with a mark of 6.83m. In the shot put, Devin Watson led the Sand Sharks with a mark of 12.80m, placing 25th, followed by Jason Jose in 27th with a throw of 12.75m.
