OKATIE, SOUTH CAROLINA. – The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team opened play at the Oldfield Classic on Monday, hosted at Oldfield Golf Club. The Sand Sharks sit in 11th place after two rounds and part of round two in the two-day tournament.
Octavio Laurent paced the lineup for USCB, sitting in eighth place after carding a 4-over for a 76 in the opening round. Laurent turned in four birdies on the day and currently sits at 1-under in his second round.
Dylan Allen stands second among the Sand Sharks and is tied for 26th overall. Allen shot a 6-over (78) in round one and is even through his second round. He leads the team with five birdies in the tournament.
Nikolai Holme is tied for 50th after posting a 9-over in the first round and sits at 2-over in round two. Holme tallied two birdies on day one.
Christofer Hammar sits at 12-over after day one, following an opening-round 80 and a current 4-over mark in round two.
Aaron Williams, is 20-over for the tournament after an 86 in round one and a 6-over score in round two. Williams recorded three birdies on the day.
The Sand Sharks also had five individuals competing. Bode King is tied for 57th after shooting an 83 in the opening round, finishing with two birdies.
Jan Ciric carded an 80 in round one with one birdie on the day.
Alfie Reynolds is tied for 72nd after an 85 in round one and currently sits at 48 in his second round. Reynolds was one of three Sand Sharks to record two birdies.
Alejandro Rivas shot an 84 in the first round and is tied for 82nd overall, while Tyler Quaill sits 89th in the field. Both Rivas and Quaill recorded one birdie during the opening day.
USCB returns to the course Tuesday morning to complete the Oldfield Classic at Oldfield Golf Club.
