HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's track and field team opened competition at the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational on Friday afternoon, competing in day one of the two-day meet hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne.
USCB had three individuals place in the top five of their respective events.
Anson Cagle led things off by finishing fifth overall in the javelin throw with a mark of 43.93 meters.
Ramon White competed in the long jump, finishing 28th overall with a mark of 6.05 meters.
In the shot put, Jason Jose led the team with a mark of 13.21 meters, earning a 12th-place finish.
The pole vault featured two top-10 finishers for USCB, as Aiden O'Neil led the team with a second-place finish and a mark of 4.35 meters. He was followed by Ethan Cockayne, who placed eighth overall with a mark of 3.75 meters.
Zachery Vowles paced the Sand Sharks in the distance events, recording a time of 4:03.38 to finish fifth overall in his event.
