HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's track & field team closed out the two-day meet at the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational. The Sand Sharks had two individuals finish first overall in their respective events.
In the discus throw, the Sand Sharks were led by Devin Watson, who recorded a mark of 41.58 meters.
Channing Robinson set a new school record in the high jump and tied for first place in the event with a mark of 2.06 meters.
The 400-meter dash was the second event the Sand Sharks won, as Jakori Herring placed first overall with a time of 47.30 while also setting a new school record.
Drake Edmonds led the way in the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 1:56.95 to pace the Sand Sharks in the event.
