The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's track and field team opened competition at two separate two-day meets this weekend: the Georgia Southern Relays in Statesboro, Georgia, and the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta.
The Sand Sharks were led by four first-place finishes in different events at the Georgia Southern Relays.
Durham Adkins competed in the 200 meters, placing 11th overall with a time of 22.95 seconds.
Devin Watson won the discus throw with a mark of 42.74 meters to lead the Sand Sharks, followed by Jason Jose, who placed second with a mark of 39.94 meters.
In the pole vault, USCB claimed the top four spots. Ethan Cockayne led the way with a mark of 3.70 meters, followed by Cole Browning, Cole Hendryx, and Ramon White.
Cameron Edwards added another first-place finish, winning the long jump with a mark of 6.70 meters. Jayden Rodriguez and Ramon White also finished in the top five, placing fourth and fifth, respectively.
Jason Jose secured another victory, winning the hammer throw with a mark of 38.42 meters.
At the Georgia Tech Invitational, Malachi Milligan placed 31st overall in the 110-meter hurdles, followed by Alie Sannoh in 38th.
Samuel Mitchell recorded the top finish for the Sand Sharks at the meet, placing 10th overall in the long jump.
Zachery Vowles placed 75th overall in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:09.16.
The Sand Sharks will conclude competition at both meets with day two on Saturday in Statesboro and Atlanta, Georgia.
