ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA - The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team completed the first round of the three-round Peach Belt Conference Championship on Sunday. The Sand Sharks sit in second place after posting a team score of 286 (-2).
Georgia Southwestern State University leads the tournament after round one with a score of 280.
USCB placed three golfers tied for fifth overall: Christofer Hammar, Aaron Williams, and Octavio Laurent. Each carded an opening-round 70.
Hammar recorded four birdies, tying Williams for the team high, and added 12 pars.
Williams highlighted his round with an eagle, one of three by Sand Sharks and one of six in the field on Sunday, along with four birdies and nine pars.
Laurent also posted an eagle, adding two birdies and a team-high 13 pars.
Dylan Allen is tied for 27th overall after shooting a 76 (+4). He totaled three birdies and 12 pars in his round.
Nikolai Holme is tied for 35th after carding a 79 (+7). He recorded an eagle, two birdies, and five pars on the day.
USCB returns to action Monday for round two at the King & Bear Golf Course. The first tee time is scheduled for 7:50 a.m., with the final Sand Shark set to tee off at 8:30 a.m.
