BOULDER CITY, NEVADA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golfer Octavio Laurent completed day two of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships in Boulder City, Nevada at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Laurent turned in a strong second round, climbing 17 spots on the player leader board and moving into second place after two rounds.
The overall leader is Ian Pienaar, who has carded 10-under par and holds a two-stroke lead over Laurent.
Florida Southern leads the NCAA Division II Men's National Championship team standings at 18-under par, while Missouri-St. Louis sits in second place at 17-under.
On day two, Laurent recorded seven birdies, giving him 13 total birdies for the tournament. He also tallied 10 pars on Tuesday, bringing his two-round total to 18 pars.
Laurent finished the afternoon round at 6-under par, bringing his tournament total to 8-under heading into Wednesday's third and final round.
