BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA — The University of South Carolina Beaufort softball player Catharine Conway was named to the D2CCA All-Southeast Region First Team on Monday afternoon. Conway a freshman outfielder for the Sand Sharks from Longwood, Florida.
Conway has enjoyed a standout freshman season in 2026 for USCB, setting records, earning conference accolades, and now receiving regional honors.
During the 2026 season, Conway set a new Peach Belt Conference record for most hits in conference play with 43. She also established a new single-season stolen base record with 37, surpassing the previous mark of 25. Conway earned First Team All-Conference honors before adding All-Southeast Region recognition.
Conway finished the season with a .497 batting average, ranking fifth in NCAA Division II softball. She also ranked 18th nationally in stolen bases and led Division II in stolen base percentage, successfully stealing every base she attempted without being caught. In addition, Conway posted a .562 on-base percentage, which ranked seventh nationally. She finished the season with 73 hits in total.
She had already been named Peach Belt Conference first team this season and now adds D2CCA All-Southeast Region First team to her season awards..
With First Team All-Region honors, Conway is now eligible for All-American consideration, with voting set to take place in the coming weeks.
