USCB Women's Basketball Announces Promotion of Brady Grogan to Associate Head Coach

BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort Women's Basketball Head Coach Sharon Versyp is announcing today the promotion of Brady Grogan to Associate Head Coach of the team.

"Brady Grogan has earned this promotion through his hard work, leadership, and commitment to our program. As our associate head coach, he has been an invaluable part of our success, and I'm excited to see him take on this new role" stated head coach Sharon Versyp. "Our team and university are fortunate to have someone as dedicated and capable as Brady leading alongside us."

Grogan joined the Sand Sharks during the 2023-24 season to help start the women's basketball program, serving as the assistant coach after spending two seasons at Heidelberg University.

"I'm extremely grateful to be named Associate Head Coach and thankful for the confidence that Coach Versyp and our administration have placed in me," said Associate Head Coach Brady Grogan. "My focus remains what it has always been: serving our student-athletes, supporting our staff, and helping our program compete at the highest level. I'm excited to continue building this program and embracing what lies ahead."

Grogan has been a major part of the program since joining the staff, leading the program in multiple areas, overseeing scouting, recruiting, and post player development. The promotion comes after the most successful season in Sand Sharks women's basketball history.

The team finished the season 18-10 overall with a 15-5 conference record, earning a second-place finish in the Peach Belt Conference. Grogan helped coach a team with three student-athletes earning all-conference honors, including one First Team selection.

This past season, the Sand Sharks finished among the top five teams in the conference in several statistical categories. Averaging 72.0 points per game, USCB ranked third in the conference in scoring. The Sand Sharks also led the conference with a 45.7 percent field goal percentage during the 2025-26 season. USCB excelled at sharing the basketball and limiting turnovers, ranking third in assist-to-turnover ratio and third in the conference with 13.5 assists per game.

Grogan will enter his fourth season with the Sand Sharks program during the 2026-27 basketball season.
