BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA — Coming off the best season in program history, the University of South Carolina Beaufort women's basketball team is set to build on its historic 2025-26 campaign as the Sand Sharks have released their 2026-27 schedule. Sharon Versyp is back for her fourth season with the Sand Sharks.
USCB finished last season with an 18-10 overall record and a 15-5 mark in Peach Belt Conference play, earning a second-place finish in the league. The Sand Sharks will look to carry that momentum into a new season featuring 28 regular-season games, three exhibition/scrimmage contests and two games in Puerto Rico.
USCB will play 14 home games, 13 road games and one neutral-site contest. The Sand Sharks will also host a Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 27-28.
The regular season will tip off Nov. 10 when the Sand Sharks travel to Melbourne, Florida, to take on Florida Tech at the Charles and Ruth Clemente Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
USCB will then travel to Wise, Virginia, for the Regional Challenge hosted by UVA-Wise. The Sand Sharks will open the challenge Nov. 13 against Ferrum College before closing the weekend Saturday, Nov. 14, against UVA-Wise.
After opening the season with three consecutive road games, the Sand Sharks will play their first home game of the season Tuesday, Nov. 17, against Allen. Tip-off at The Cove is set for 6 p.m.
The matchup against Allen begins a stretch in which USCB will play six of seven games at home, with the lone road contest coming at Lenoir-Rhyne.
The Sand Sharks will begin Peach Belt Conference play Dec. 2 when they host USCA at The Cove. The conference opener is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
USCB will close its home stretch Saturday, Dec. 5, against Lander before hitting the road for its next two conference matchups. The Sand Sharks will then return home for their final game of the first semester against Georgia College & State.
USCB will open the 2027 calendar year Saturday, Jan. 2, with an afternoon matchup against Clayton State before traveling to Flagler for a conference road game.
The Sand Sharks will then host Columbus State and Georgia Southwestern State in back-to-back home games.
Following a home matchup against Augusta on Jan. 27, USCB will close out the month against Lander on Jan. 30.
The final month of the regular season begins Feb. 3 when the Sand Sharks travel to Georgia College for a 5:30 p.m. matchup. USCB will then return home to face Middle Georgia.
Three of USCB's final games of the regular season will be played on the road, while the Sand Sharks will host Flagler on Feb. 17 and North Georgia in the regular-season finale Feb. 27.
The Peach Belt Conference Tournament is scheduled for March 3-7.
The Sand Sharks enter the 2026-27 season looking to build on a historic campaign that saw the most wins in program history.
